About the Role

We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Trademark Attorney to join our Brands & Legal team in Southeast Asia. In this role, you will support Senior Associates and the Head of Southeast Asia in delivering high-quality legal services to our clients, with a strong focus on intellectual property, trademark prosecution, and legal analysis.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Trademark Attorney with 2–3 years of post-qualification experience who wants to deepen their expertise in IP law while working closely with experienced professionals in a collaborative, international environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct legal analysis, trademark searches, and risk assessments, and present findings to Senior Associates and the Head of Southeast Asia.

• Perform legal research on regulations, case law, and precedents relevant to trademark and IP matters, and summarise findings for client advice and legal documentation.

• Manage and maintain legal databases and case management systems, including WebTMS and other IP software, ensuring deadlines and records are accurately tracked.

• Support brand operations by organising case files, monitoring deadlines, and coordinating administrative aspects of trademark matters.

• Provide administrative and operational support, including calendar management and meeting coordination, and be able to cover key daily caseload tasks when required.

• Accurately record billable hours (minimum expectation: 20 billable hours per week) and assist with billing where required.

• Handle all information with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

• Actively engage in continuous professional development, staying up to date with trademark law, legal procedures, and IP trends.
  

What We're Looking For

• Bar admission in a relevant jurisdiction, or eligibility for admission (Juris Doctor degree).

• 2–3 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally within IP, with a focus on trademark and design prosecution in Southeast Asia.

• Experience with clearance searches, legal opinions, oppositions, invalidation or rectification proceedings, and enforcement actions.

• Exposure to PDPA, licensing, assignment, and settlement agreements.

• Litigation experience is a plus.

• Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage deadlines effectively.

• Comfortable working independently while being a strong team player.

• Tech-minded and confident working with IP and legal management systems.
